Reference to general Février?[edit]

In the article there is a sentence under the section "First world war": Général Février put her in charge of the ambulances at Messimi Hospital. If the person mentioned is the French general Victor Février, he died in 1908 and couldn't possibly put her in charge of anything. Can somebody confirm who this General Février was? The reference is probably from this website(in Dutch), although that may not be the source article. General Février had something to do with the French military healthcare system. He is partially responsible for helping the American Field Services relocating to the building of the Lycee Pasteur, which had been appropriated by the French Military in the mobilisation for World War I. It became known as the American Ambulance Section of Paris. This is probably the section that she was in charge of. As a matter of interest, this quote (from Samuel N. Watson; Those Paris Years; 1936; Book II, Chapter 12): "The word ambulance in French has as its primary meaning a military hospital, a mobile unit of hospitalisation which follows the army; and from that came the secondary use of the word as meaning any military hospital, as also the vehicles used for the transport of the wounded." Ambulance in this sense probably means mobile as in Mobile Army Surgical Hospital. Where Messimi comes from, I have no idea. There are of course the Messimy hospitals, but they are located near Lyon, which does not fit with the story. The history of "The American Ambulance" is older. It was initially a volunteer service set up in the Franco-Prussian War. If you want to know what that looked like, have a look at this picture. JHvW 16:10, 10 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
