Dubious Photo?[edit]

Replicated from comment on the photo's talk page. It's not uncommon for there to be snowpockets on the mountain even in high summer: especially near the glacier - this photo however does look like more snow than you'd expect: having said that we've had one or two cold summers, so it's not impossible, what does the exif data say? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.195.193.43 (talk) 13:04, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Change in rule of the road

Kincaid mentions that prior to the opening of the Grossglockner High Alpine road that the rule of the road in Carinthia and East Tyrol was changed from drive on the left to the right. The Austrian Autoclub says that the summit of the Grossglockner was one of the places where traffic had to change sides of the road, which must refer to before the opening of the High Alpine road. Drive on the left was the rule in most of Austria before the Anschluss, except Tyrol and Vorarlberg. With the opening of this road there was a move to extend driving on the right in the west of Austria, especially parts that had driven on the right before 1915.
