The Story[edit]

The story, as I see it, takes place 20 years in the future of DC's silver age. Dick Grayson is now in his mid to late 30's, and married to Barbara Gordon. What has happened is a non violent final solution to to rid the world of super villians. The world's superheros agreed to either retire or go into hiding. The one exception is Batman, who will not cease his crusade to fight for justice. Another exception is Green Lantern who is a protector of a sector of the galaxy not limited to planet Earth.

Commissioner James Gordon retired either because of his age or the fact that as Batman's friend he could not support such a radical change. Chief Ohara is still the top uniformed officer in Gotham and the main architect of this master plan to rid the world of psychotic villians and put the business of law and order back into the hands of the police. He is aided by Selina Kyle who had retired her own Catwoman costume.

Dick Grayson eventually returns to his mask after roadblocks keep him from discovering Batman's killer. He suspects that Chief Ohara is responsible since Batman was the lone holdout of the superheros' retirement. Due either to Batman's death or the reemergence of Robin, Gotham's super-villains return. Clark Kent and Princess Diana of Themescara don their costumes again to idealisticly set an example for the nation's superheros that they will abide by the retirement and police their own.

Batman is still alive and faked his own death to flush out a larger consiracy. Gotham's supervillans were never brought to justice and were still operating underground. The story has (in a sense) been revealed, in the full-length screenplay from the creators of the trailer. It might be appropriate to update the "plot summary" section based on the screenplay - but from what I've seen, fan reaction seems to be that the screenplay doesn't live up to the story, and the film it describes wouldn't necessarily be as noteworthy as the trailer itself; it might be better to simply continue to document the trailer here, and simply mention the screenplay as existing but not being relevant since it isn't part of what was actually made.
