Copyright[edit]

This page was recently taken down for copyright infringement. However, I work for Perpetual and wrote all of the content that was used on here, hence no copyright infringement occurred. MikeEG2001 17:26, 3 May 2007 (UTC) Mike G.[reply]

I reposted much of the basic information from the previous page after emailing the person who deleted it. His suggestion was to maintain a neutral POV and pay attention to the WP:NOT#CRYSTAL entry, which I did. Hopefully it can be expanded from here. Recommendation would be to avoid posting information from other pages verbatim, but instead to restate and summarize relevant information and point to external links that contain game information. aeonite 21:29, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately, that isn't sufficient. Even though you wrote it, the text is copyrighted by the company, so you must be in a position to speak for the company and release the text under the GFDL. If the company is fine with that, please send an email from a company address to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org saying so. Or, you can simply post a message on the website declaring that the text is released under the GFDL. In either case, it is key that you explicitly mention that you are releasing the text under the GFDL -- releasing it "to Wikipedia" is not enough. In any event, the text was more appropriate for a promotional website than an encyclopedia and I think the article would do well with a fresh start. Going to the effort of securing permission may not be necessary.
On a side note, you may want to review Wikipedia's guideline on managing a conflict of interest. Because you are closely involved with the subject, you should be conscious that your perspective may not be shared by other editors. I'm not accusing you of anything or even suggesting that you change how you edit, I just see the guideline as some helpful advice.  Þ  06:54, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Note that I believe this issue has been dealt with as the material on the page now is factual and neutral rather than infringing or overtly promotional. aeonite 14:50, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:G&hromerisingside.jpg[edit]

Image:G&hromerisingside.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

References[edit]

With the demise of the perpetual.com and godsandheroes.com websites, the reference hyperlinks are dead. I'll start trying to find third-party references, but it may become hard to find references for all the information. ~PescoSo saywe all 18:42, 15 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I just put up this feat planner site, which might be worthy of inclusion in the reference or external links section: http://gnh-feat-planner.info/ John Coker (talk) 13:04, 22 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Back in production[edit]

Heatwave Interactive has bought the game, rights, tools, and the engine to this IP.[1]

Website down?[edit]

It appears that the folks at Heatwave have taken down the official website, godsandheroes.com at some point this week (week of 06/07/10). Hopefully, this means we get a new updated site soon:)

Nevermind. It was down for several days. Back up and unchanged now.

Release section[edit]

I completely removed the "Release" section. All it contained was the release dates (which were already in the article lead and infobox) and a list of places to buy the game. It looked like a catalog to me. (If the game were exclusively available from a single retailer, that might be notable.) If there are other notable events surrounding the game's release, please feel free to add the section back in. --Jt12852 14:52, 29 June 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jt12852 (talkcontribs)
