Pronunciation?[edit]

Does anyone know the pronunciation? The spelling seems to suggest /gli:dlɪs/ or /gli:dlɛs/, but the etymologies and earlier spellings could indicate /gli:dli:s/ (which could give the first pronunciation by vowel reduction?). Every time I drive through I initially read it as <Gleadles> and so want to pronounce it as /gli:dəlz/ which is doubtless incorrect. Using youglish (a very useful tool which searches YouTube transcripts to find where words are used so that you can hear them used in context) I did find two clips from a youtube video in which people identifying themselves as local councillors pronounce it /gli:dlɛs/, which answers my question, but is obviously cannot be taken as a source for this article.
