Fact Query[edit]

Since Wigan County was set up in 1897-1899 then followed by several others before beoming Athletic in 1922, how were they the first opponents of Bury in 1885? 83.104.138.141 (talk) 18:14, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It is believed that the team was an informal one, not belonging to any organised club. All that's known is they came from Wigan. No Great Shaker (talk) 10:36, 23 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Concerning the edit oldid 912149889, dated 23 August 2019, there is a statement on the efl.com/ which covers more than one of the affirmations that have been reverted.
