Lead[edit]
- "Journeying to Rome around 957" - "Journeying to Rome in around 957"? I'm not particularly wedded to that wording, but "around date" on its own seems a bit odd to me.
- Ditto "around 970"
- "Some accounts have Germanus becoming abbot of Cholsey Abbey in 992, but some " - "some" twice; suggest a reword.
Early career[edit]
- "with Germanus arriving at Fleury after Oswald had been resident at Fleury " - *"with Germanus arriving at Fleury after Oswald had been resident there"
Return to England[edit]
- " investigated monastic regulations and order" - that is, he studied them, or he was tasked with enforcing them?
- Link Ramsey Abbey
- " around 970" - same again.
- "but was removed from office in 975[4]" - add a comma? Footnotes slap-bang in the middle of prose are normally frowned upon :).
Later life[edit]
- Link Eadnoth the Younger
- "The two abbots themselves carried the remains of the saint and his companions" - "The two abbots carried the remains of the saint and his companions themselves"
Ealdgyth is snowed under with work, so I've taken it upon myself to address the issues you've raised. I trust Ealdgyth won't mind. Malleus Fatuorum 02:27, 23 September 2012 (UTC)
