Denial of talking to 60 minutes[edit]

There is no claim that Hincapie talked to 60 Minutes. Although he has said that he has not talked to 60 Minutes, nor does he know where 60 Minutes got its information about his grand jury testimony, he does not deny the substance of the claim that he testified about witnessing Armstrong use performance enhancing drugs. By including this content we are incorrectly leaving the impression that he is somehow countering the report; he is not. I've removed it on the grounds of it being a moot and misleading point [1]. --Born2cycle (talk) 19:20, 21 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hearsay[edit]

The claim that George Hincapie has joined the accusers is hearsay. This is a problem for anyone who cares about reliable reporting. Edknol (talk) 03:41, 23 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

By that definition almost everything in WP is based on hearsay, since the content of WP articles is supported by what is said in reliable sources. That said, unless we have a source that says GH has "joined the accusers", it should be removed. --Born2cycle (talk) 04:02, 23 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I've reworded to say only that which is supported by sources. --Born2cycle (talk) 04:08, 23 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the rewording. I'll be curious to see what happens when the grand jury completes their investigation.Edknol (talk) 05:01, 23 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

First TdF stage win contradiction[edit]

The article text states, "In 2005 he had his first stage win in the Tour de France"; while the Career Achievements section lists "2003, 1st, Stage 4 (TTT) Tour de France". Would somebody with better knowledge of Hincapie's career please edit the article to ameliorate or clarify this contradiction? Matt Gies (talk) 20:49, 2 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
