Rev. William Attfield[edit]

It would be natural to assume that George Attfield's father was a parish priest in Bath - but it seems that that was not the case. After his marriage, he acted as a lecturer at St Mary the Virgin's Church, Bathwick. His father was a wealthy Bath merchant, and after his death William apparently didn't have a Bath living. He was the landlord of some properties, and became a gentleman of leisure, moving in fashionable circles. Apparently, also, none of the sons went to university. There is plenty of family history online for the Attfields of Bath. Charles Matthews (talk) 07:32, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
