Milan Appearances[edit]

In the "Club" section it states Gattuso made his 300th appearance for A.C Milan against Lille in 2006 but on the club information section below personal information it states his appearances for the club is at 277. I do not know how many appearances he has actually made but thought the point needed bringing up for someone to sort :)

The infobox stats refer to league appearances only. The 23-game discrepancy likely includes cup games, though I can't confirm this at present. - Dudesleeper · Talk 10:28, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Taunting incident?[edit]

Gattuso's taunting of Poulsen was a trivial incident. Its mention looks out of place in an article that gives a broad overview of Gattuso's career.

I think, if put into the context of his aggressive style of play, the incident demonstrates his massive will to win and aggressive persona on the pitch. Poulsen 11:49, 9 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think it looks out of place, too. Especially if you keep in mind that Poulsen was the one to seriously trouble Kakà in the first leg, thus Gattuso's behaving was more of a reaction. To me, it looks like there are better and less subjective sounding (sorry) arguments to show his will to win and the actions he will take...

I think its fine but we should include how it was Poulsen egging him on so that you can tell that he is very caring and has a big heart for teammates, and looks out for them....obviously in better words -Rapini


Point is, the "Poulsen-incident" can hardly be seen as one-sided as it is presented here. If you think this exact information that necessary to be included in this article, there should be mention of Poulsen's mean taunting of Kaka in the first leg just as well. Kaka couldn't do anything because of Poulsen. Gattuso had to look out for Poulsen so Kaká wouldn't be 'disabled' again. It's perfectly alright to write of the Poulsen-incident, but I think picking out only Gattuso's wrongdoings but not writing about Poulsen's in this very context is a kind of POV. Why was my revision undone? I tried to explain the context for once. It is interesting that the "Poulsen-affair" is considered more important an information about a player who is more and more considered to be one of Europe's best midfielders (cf. e.g. quote by Benitez: "in players like Gattuso and Kaka they have two of the best players in the world"). I do not mean to be POV, and I do not think this additional information was, but I tried to explain sth. from more than only one angle (and this one angle was out of context)! --The Growl 12:09, 4 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but because I like how Gattuso plays, I am not allowed to write about sth. I consider POV? I really don't see where I - except in the talk, trying to explain what I mean by "out of context" - wrote POV, when I added the info to the article. Alright, I get what you mean, thanks. Still, I'd like to explain myself: rest assured that I didn't mean to pretend I knew Gattuso's thoughts. To me, it was plain and simple football tactics. (A reaction to Poulsen, just as Poulsen was cleverly placed as a 'reaction' to Kaka) [Just a thought: In the German wikipedia-section, they had the same argument (if the Poulsen-incident was or was not worth mentioning. Remember Poulsen got Totti sent off in the 2004 European Championship in Portugal. Afterwards Italy didn't qualify for the next round due to Denmark's draw with Swenden. Transfer rumors[edit]

Gattuso's page is not a place to discuss rumors. I removed a section regarding Gattuso's "transfer to Arsenal". That's totally bogus as there are no reports suggesting that. Please do not put transfer rumors in this page. Especially ones with no citation what-so-ever. If you continue to post these, I will push a complaint against you. Transfer to Glasgow Rangers[edit]

Gattuso is due a ban after headbutting Joe Jordan after the Champions league game againt tottenham hotspur on 15-02-11. During the game he should have been sent off twice for pushing Peter Crouch and then leaving the pitch and assalting Joe Jordan by raising his hand and pushing Jordan in the face. FIFA needs to review his actions and ban him from playing any football for a long time. The absence of Harry Redknapp's "Gattuso obviously hadn’t done his homework. He could’ve picked a fight with somebody else. Bold, revert, discuss - Tottenham[edit]

What is the problem with saying that Gattuso was being considered by Tottenham, and could it be included if one was to avoid the angle that it was scrapped because of a fan protest? There definitely was interest, as they wouldn't "break off" [1] talks if it never started in the first place. The campaign has been mentioned by BBC, Guardian, ESPN. Certainly the fact of being offered a job so soon after leaving Fiorentina is notable even if the reason it didn't happen isn't fully established. WP:CRYSTALBALL. If we were to write about every link every player/manager had with a club, the list would be long and not notable. Wait until we know the facts of official deals. Fiorentina[edit]

Fiorentina should be removed from his career stats segment, shouldn't it? He signed an agreemment to join them effective Jul 1st, but then the agreement was mutually rescinded two weeks later. So he never actually joined Fiorentina as the contract never actually came into effect.

Style of play[edit]

When you say things like he is isn't particularly skilful, this is clearly an opinion. Unless if Wikipedia has a method to work out how to calculate if someone is skillfull or a tough tackling midfielder, then these things should be left out. Besides that, how do you calculate which person's opinion should be put forward and what person's opinion should be left out?
