OF COURSE people don't solve a system of equations when trying to catch a ball- they are chasing a ball, not doing math. Imagine a dog pulling out a slide rule before it runs after a thrown frisbee? This entire definition is an absurd over-explantion of the obvious. I cannot even imagine someone running experiments to verify this type of hypothesis. Unless they get paid grant money to do it, perhaps.
