Double nationality[edit]

Basque is not a nationality. Her father is Spanish (from the Basque Country).

Actually it is a nationality - what it's not is citizenship. Nationality can mean both citizenship and ethnicity. --Loginnigol 12:52, 25 August 2017 (UTC)

Muguruza has both the Venezuelan and the Spanish nationality. As she states herself in an article in Venezuelan newspaper El Universal (http://www.eluniversal.com/deportes/130324/tenista-garbine-muguruza-con-el-corazon-entre-venezuela-y-espana), she would be able to represent any of her two countries at the Davis Cup. She is considered a Venezuelan tennis player in her country of birth. Therefore, I think we should not focus exclusively on her Spanish nationality in this article.--Lexicógrafo feliz (talk) 09:36, 29 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You cannot represent two Davis Cup teams (or Fed Cup in this case). Per her registration with the ITF she must pick one and she chose Spain. Yes she can change it but she hasn't yet. Citizenship means absolutely nothing in the infobox... it's her recognized playing nationality which all the tournaments have shown as Spanish. Fyunck(click) (talk) 09:52, 29 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Women don't play Davis Cup. It's a competition for men only. Women play for the Federation Cup. David Kemp, 04/06/2016. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.147.29.132 (talk) 18:19, 4 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Spanish?[edit]

It's fine to have Spanish in the info box as it's specific to sports but surely the main text of the article should call her Venezuelan of Spanish descent or Spanish-Venzuelan or somesuch thing? How can you be born in Venezuela, have one Venezuelan parent and Venezuelan citizenship without that being reflected at all in the intro text of your Wikipedia article? 119.18.2.5 (talk) 03:46, 6 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It was removed without discussion, and now re-added. Fyunck(click) (talk) 04:09, 6 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Dimension of page is too big[edit]

When you try to modify the page, it slows too much down. There's clearly a problem with the dimension of the page. I see the statistics section was already excerpted, maybe the pictures uploaded are the problem. If not even them, then it has to be reduced in lenght because of too long sections. I can see there are already typo problems descending from the slowness. --79.33.101.118 (talk) 15:23, 27 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
