German invasion...by British troops...[edit]

This reader is mystified by this passage: "The five officers made it clear that they would only fight in the event of a German invasion of Ireland by British troops..." I find it hard to visualise this, if that is indeed what was meant. I would appreciate a clarification. Writtenright 03:41, 3 August 2007 (UTC)Writtenright[reply]
