"promoting nationalism" etc.[edit]

I find it hilarious that communists seem to hate this band (as shown by the awards boycott), even though they belong to a small minority fighting for its rights, and there are actual pro-fascist Italians in Bolzano who probably hate them too...

If someone actually wants to pursue that viewpoint, I think you might want to describe what the guy's old nazi band was doing, if they actually have some nasty lyrics. Currently it's difficult to understand what the problem with this band is in some people's eyes.85.157.76.57 (talk) 06:43, 31 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

To be honest its hard to describe what the actual criticism is all about. The reason given for their exclusion was only, that one wanted to avoid a political debate, which would overshadow the awards. Some journalists criticise the band for not distancing themselves from Nazi supporters, which Frei.Wild certainly has, enough. Also the lines quoted in the articel are often taken as an example for typical Nazi language (for those who speak German: Thomas Kuban: "Südtirol ist nicht Italien"). I find it hard to explain the criticism, because it usually doesn't go very deep. Even the German Wikipedia articel can't give more reason for the criticism.
Only few is known about Kaiserjäger. The band only existed for some weeks and according to Burger didn't play more than 3 concerts. It is known that they have released a record. Yet I am unable to find a reliable source for their song texts. It is alleged that they had xenophobic lines and also that Südtirol was already a Kaiserjäger song. Both is unprofen. --MephistoGF (talk) 16:15, 1 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
