The article mentions that Franz was raised as a Catholic. However, the reference (The Watchtower, May 1, 1987, page 22-30) mentions Franz was baptized in the Lutheran Church, but was sent to a Catholic school and attended the Catholic services for practical reasons (the St-Joseph Church was nearby).
