Temporary move of recently added material[edit]

I have moved the following material to the talk page, as it is entirely unsourced, and the editor who added it claims to be Lee's son, a potential conflict of interest. Oldelpaso 10:39, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

After completing his football career in 1974 he controversially made a big money switch to the Miami Dolphins where he used his footballing talent to become their field goal kicker, he played the whole 1975/76 season after Garo Yepremian sustained serious knee injury. He controversially beat experienced Larry Seiple to the starting berth. After initial uncertainty and criticism, he won the hearts of Dolphin fans with a last minute field goal against the Philadelphia Eagles. He won the players Player of Season Award due to his hard work and dedication, but then left in early 1976 a cult hero, in order to pursue a business career. Many thought he could have been one of the best NFL kickers of all time had he stayed. He departed saying "I would like to take this opportunity to thank Don Shula for giving me this tremendous experience and for him keeping his faith with me when all others doubted my capabilities, I would also like to thank the fans for all their support and adoration. They have made my stay a happy and unforgettable experience, but unfortunately it is time to return home".

Lee went on to run Manchester City in the 1990's after ousting the previous chairman Peter Swales. He hired his good friend Alan Ball and plunged Manchester City into one of their famous yo-yo periods where they managed to go from the top division of the football league into the third division and back again in short order. He is known as "The Bog Roll King" due to his toilet roll manufacturing business, which once employed famous comedian Peter Kay, who mentions his time there in his autobiography "The Sound Of Laughter". He has two sons Jonathan Lee and Nicholas Lee, who have had successful modelling and music careers, and have just floated their joint wealth management business on the stock market for a reported £650 million. Both have been voted in FHM's 'Top 100 Sexiest Wealthy Bachelors' for three years running.

Francis also had an illustrious career as a racehorse trainer, in his short spell as a trainer he managed an astonishing 150 winners and became one of the most consistent performers in the North of England. His most famous horse being "My Life's a Lie", named after his everpresent inclination to exaggerate stories, others incuded "Not in my day", “Sir Harry Hardman”,"All White Then" and "Young Jason". His good friend and trainer Micheal Jarvis describes Lee as "The most talented, genuine and down to earth man I have ever met". Lee gave the trade up in 2001 to pursue his business commitments and his inventions. Lee is now onto his second invention which is set for worldwide launch in 2008. His first invention was a machine which painted road barriers automatically whilst attached to a lorry. The second is an environmentally friendly invention. Since creating this in 2003 Lee's house in England become almost fully relaiant on environmentally friendly technology, using tecniques such as biomass and small custom made wind turbines.

Before and after football he was a oustanding cricketer and arguably could have been a professional if not a Test Match player, but instead chose his first love football. He played in the Lancashire leagues as a teenager and in his post football years. Playing against famous players like Clive Lloyd, Wes Hall and Roy Gilchrist, who he famously smashed for two boundaries in a row, but was then subject to an infamous Gilchrist beamer, when he overstepped the bowling crease by four yards and pitched the ball into Lee's chest, causing a nasty bruise, a scar which he still carries today. He went on to make a double century, forcing Gilchrist out of the attack. Lee was an all rounder, being an aggressive right handed middle order batsman, and a vicous right arm seam bowler picking up career best figures of 10 for 21 in a Lancashire leagues game playing for Westhoughton.

RE- Francis Lee -oldepaso[edit]

Well i was under the assumption that you couldnt copy from other websites. And i would copy this information from a website if it was on a website but it isn't this is coming from my father. So perhaps you should research my claims and then replace the information back on the page, as it's all true. Look into it then apologise, he was a racehorse trainer, NFL player, lancashire leagues cricketer. And read Peter Kays biography to see if that fact is true. Ask anybody in horse racing to see if thats true. You are a fool and obviously a know it all, however you clearly don't. Why should he have a depleated article, when he has achieved so much. And so what if its a conflict of interests, nobody could add this information as it's from my father.

None of this information is on the internet, i cant find it. Why would i lie, am i not a good enough source?? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Nikky88 (talkcontribs) 11:01, 14 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

You can't copy verbatim, but you can use them as sources and references, just as you would a book, provided the site isn't just some random person's blog or somesuch. You might not lie, but unfortunately others have, and third-party sources are the only acceptable way to verify such information (The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verfiability, not truth). There's something bizarre about the passages above. They contain quite a bit of useful hard to find information about Lee, such as the patent he registered, which after looking it up matches European patent number EP0021584 - "Motorised vehicle for effecting a spraying operation". But some other bits don't add up, such as the NFL stuff, given that he was playing for Derby during 1975-76. Oldelpaso 17:23, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Doing a little easy research shows no record of him in the Dolphin's All-Time Roster. -- Gogo Dodo 23:12, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The N-word.[edit]

Yes, that's right. Norman. I've corrected a number of things here. Charlie George took the penalty that was awarded against Hunter. The fight was later - as the commentator says, it had been coming for some time - and it should be clear since the two teams have changed ends by the time the fight starts.
