Character list[edit]

Οἶδα - hi! Saw your reverse of my edit removing the character list. I guess 'notability purposes' wasn't the best descriptor for my edit summary. I based the decision to remove on a few things, one being the lack of character lists on other book articles (which maybe isn't a proper justification), and another being flaws that I perceived within the character section - namely the typos (character names are incomplete/spelled wrong/etc.), formatting, and the lack of consistency in terms of which characters are included (some are relatively minor characters included in the list while other more important characters seem to be absent).

I am not at all opposed to having a list of characters on this book's article or others, I just didn't want to leave up a section that felt idiosyncratic and I didn't necessarily see much benefit to improving the section vs. simply removing (at least for the time being). I can work on improving its format and details, but I figured I'd start a discussion here just to explain my thinking and see if you have any insights on the best way to improve this part of book articles in general.

I think the section is a good addition to the article, though I'm always in favor of copy-editing and expanding it. What's there seems like a great starting point. Darkage7[Talk] 20:11, 1 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for explaining your edit @Reedturner: I sort of figured you may have been concerned with the quality of the list, and thus considered its exclusion more warranted than its inclsusion. However, I could't be certain because I have not read the book myself and I've reverted unwarranted removals of such lists before. I noticed you rewrote the character descriptions and I don't see any issues. However, it is probably worth noting that character lists are not generally needed when a comprehensive plot section is created (MOS:CHARACTERS). Seeing as the plot summary is straightforward, I reckoned a character section would be of value. Οἶδα (talk) 08:51, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Navarre[edit]

Fictional country of Navarre? That's a real place, wasn't there even a shout out in the book? 37.29.210.107 (talk) 13:20, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
