In Dutch law police may shoot a fleeing felon so long as they make an attempt to shoot the person in the leg. (Please provide a source to support this statement...)

I don't think they are allowed to shoot to kill at all if it is not absolutely necessary. Take a look at the article about the murder of Theo van Gogh. They shot him (Mohammed B.) in the leg, even while he was firing at police officers. We are a civilized country, you know... But I'm not a lawer. Golradir 19:03, 13 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
