I was unable to find any sources for the milk-flavoured milk thing that were not from Wikipedia. 35.11.241.67 21:22, 16 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This personal site, Weird Milk Facts, cites the 29 August 1998 New Scientist as the source for the story.
On a personal note, I went to the Whangarei Woolworths while on my honeymoon. I didn't see any milk-flavored milk. ;) JordeeBec 23:05, 25 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Does Melon milk have artificial flavorings?[edit]

Or does it contain real melons extract of some amount? Just wondering why there isn't a Melon milk article in Wikipedia. :| TheTechieGeek63 (talk) 03:35, 8 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal[edit]

Hi, I'm proposing to merge flavored milk and Milkshake (or at least the prepackaged part), as they both appear to be discussing the same thing, but one page appears to be US centric while the other is UK Australia focused. I think it should be simple to condense the two together, although it may mean the removal of some regionally specific facts (such as sizes or products of specific companies). Any thoughts? Clovis Sangrail (talk) 11:44, 6 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see the two as all that similar. Anything that's called "flavored milk" would seem to me to be too thin to be considered a milkshake. --Pi zero (talk) 16:08, 8 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Good point - I think the main articles are probably justified to be separate. The overlap is mostly in the premade section on the MS page and the whole flavored milk page. I think it'd be worth bringing most of the premade section to the flavored page, which will make it more consistent. Would that be ok? Clovis Sangrail (talk) 14:08, 11 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
You mean Milkshake#Pre-made products? As I understand that, it's describing a separate product that is not flavored milk, but rather differs from flavored milk by having a thickener added, and is sold by pretty much the same companies that sell flavored milk. In which case, the product being discussed by that paragraph is in fact milkshake and not flavored milk, so it's in the article it should be in. --Pi zero (talk) 15:26, 13 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I've rephrased the key passage at Milkshake#Pre-made products in an attempt to make it clearer, based on my understanding of its intent. --Pi zero (talk) 15:36, 13 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It sounds like there may be regional differences about the definition - Australia (Where I am) would call a milk only drink a milkshake, and a thickened version (by icecream or thickeners) a thickshake. Since I don't know how this varys in other countries, I can't make any changes with confidence. Its probably best to leave as is I suppose. Cheers Clovis Sangrail (talk) 10:48, 15 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ha! I just read the lead for the milkshake article again - Commonwealth countries can leave out the icecream (so the two pages are identical for us but describe different products for other countries). Cheers Clovis Sangrail (talk) 10:52, 15 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
