Serbia/Montenegro Socialist Republic flags[edit]

If there is a reason for these two flags to be exactly the same (or as close to the same as one can first distinguish), it would be a very good thing to mention. Anyone? Scoutersig 07:05, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The drawing of the SR Montenegro flag is wrong. The Montenegrian flag should have significantly lighter blue in the middle.

Another more important problem is that the article doesnt cite any sources. As far as I know the SR Macedonia flag was based on the revolutionary flags from the times of the resistance against the Ottoman Empire (for example flags used in the Ilinden Uprising and Kruševo Republic, 1903), and a red flag was always typical for Macedonia regardless of communism (even the modern Macedonian flag is red). Flags of the Yugoslav Republics or Flags of the Yugoslav Socialist Republics[edit]

I made/restored this page mostly because the work that User:DIREKTOR had donne on this subject on the Flag of Yugoslavia article should heve its place on this article. It would be highly innapropriate to me to just delete that users work. Since that article (Flag of Yugoslavia) is suposed to include the national flags, this section of the Republic flags was innapropriate on that article, being this article for that purpose. Please, whatever users feel like expressing support or oposition to any of the issues mentioned here, be free to adress them.

Regarding the name of the article, I supose that it is useless to mention the "Socialist Republics" instead of simply "Republics" for the sole reason that the "Republics" only existed in the "Socialist Yugoslavia", so the word "Republic" in this context automatically imply the "Socialist Republics", as per Flags of the Soviet Republics, automatically impliying that the republics were socialist" without necessarily mentioning it. Everyone can obviously feel free to opose and express its reasons.

Since I didn´t noteced any "consensus" regarding the merge of this article with some other one, I felt free to restore it. Please feel free to recomend any merges of this article, if adequat. Thank you all. FkpCascais (talk) 20:34, 27 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
