Beyond Hollywood[edit]

What makes this site notable or usable for reviews? Their about page doesn't really say much nor does the author of the article in question here suggest that it's anything outside self-published source, which fails WP:SPS. Thoughts? Andrzejbanas (talk) 02:15, 3 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Notability has nothing to do with article content. Beyond Hollywood had editorial overview, but the site is defunct now. It is not self-published any more than AllMovie is. For example, here is a snapshot of their "about us" page from 2013, which clearly lists an editor. Personally, I don't see the point in listing a review from Allmovie. Thanks for the archive link. Even with it though, I'm not terribly convinced by the site. Does it have a payed staff? There is nothing on the page suggesting why we should take these guys as serious reviewers. Per WP:NEWSORG, I don't think we should be using them. As for AllMovie, it has been used in several articles including a few good articles and used as a database by the New York Times. The reviewer himself, has been a credited source in several books, a few of which you can see here: here. I'm not entirely convinced that Beyond Hollwood passes WP:SELFPUBLISH, unless you have other proof to show me. Andrzejbanas (talk) 11:47, 3 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]
