Overly Specific[edit]

Some aspects of this article seem overly specific - Roman Catholic churches sponsor fish fries? Many churches of all denominations sponsor them and not just in Wisconsin and not just on Fridays and not even just churches (fire departments, fraternal lodges, private and public schools, etc.). Why only call out fish fries in the Northeast and Southeast? We have them all over the Midwest. Sure you'd also see them in the Great Plains and even the western U.S., etc. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.158.48.13 (talk) 14:55, 9 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It might be worth commenting on the wider use of "fish fry" as a very different and implicitly illegal event in black US communities?https://genius.com/Louis-jordan-saturday-night-fish-fry-lyrics (with apologies for lack for formatting, don't understand this stuff!) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.241.166.187 (talk) 16:06, 26 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
