The Finnish Sportspersonality of the year is not selected in categories of MALE and FEMALE. Categories are OPEN ("Vuoden urheilija" in Finnish) and FEMALE ("Vuoden naisurheilija"). So, if a female is selected in the open category, she is also winner of the female category. But if a female wins the open category, no best male athlete is not selected.
