French Wikipedia sure seems to think he was a real person, and its article has plenty of references: fr:Ferdinand Lop. If it's a hoax, it's clearly a notable hoax deserving of Wikipedia coverage. AnonMoos (talk) 17:34, 30 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
