I removed a {{fact}} tag from the article in chief. The tag was added to the summary topic sentence that observed that certain types of faxlore had "serious consequences." The paragraphs that follow contain referenced reports of incidents where circulated faxlore had led to Federal civil rights litigation, hoaxes diverting the attention of police departments, and other incidents that fairly qualify as "serious consequences", at least from where I am sitting. It may be that this could be phrased better, but I'm not sure that calling it an unsourced statement is the right approach. - Smerdis of Tlön 15:56, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
