Supposed dropping of MGB designation[edit]

A sentence in the article states: "Since the Fairmile D could be fitted out with a mix of armament that gave it the capabilities of both a motor gunboat and a motor torpedo boat, the MGB designation was dropped." This sentence is unsourced and contradicts both books by Len Reynolds (CO of MGB 658) which are used as refs in the article. Both books make it clear that some of the boats were designated as MGBs and others as MTBs. The first batch had been ordered as MGBs but were completed as MTBs. I would propose that the sentence in question be removed unless a source is found. Perhaps it was intended to say that the MGB designation was dropped from those which were originally ordered as MGBs but completed as MTBs, so it could be reworded appropriately. --David Biddulph (talk) 08:23, 15 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
