Does anyone know more about this album: "Eleventeen (as Eleventeen) - 1996"? I was going to at least try and find a track list, but I didn't have much luck on the internet anywhere. Toofishes 12:51, 19 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This Site Needed (And Still Needs) Major Renovation[edit]

I fixed the site up a bit.

Style / interpretations[edit]

Re "explores issues of gender identity ... and being wrongly placed in special ed classes" -- these seem like pretty sketchy and farfetched interpretations strictly from the lyrics of the cited songs. Consistency/Clarification in band member names[edit]

It's hard to understand who's who in this band. According to the infobox, the members are Max Collins (Bass, Vocals), Tony Fagenson (Drums), and Matt Bair (Guitarist, Backing Vocals), with a former member Jon Siebels (guitar).

From History - Formation: "The band originally consisted of Brandon Madrishin (vocals, bass), Alberto Hernandez (guitar), and Cha (drums)."

I like how none of these people are listed in the infobox. Who are they again?

Then from History - Breakup: "Max had a short lived project called Brotherhood of Lost Dogs. Max and Tony reunited to form a new band called The Sugi Tap..."

People who while in the infobox, do not appear to have been members to begin with from reading the previous paragraph.

Then from History - Reunion: "After performing for over a year as The Sugi Tap, on October 1st, 2007 it was leaked Alex Band website that a "newly reunited" Eve 6 (only including Brandon and Cha, and a new guitarist named Dan formerly of the Long Island band "Bandcamp," as Siebels has elected to focus on his new band Monsters are Waiting...) would be going on tour, playing their first show at the Mary Washington University in Fredericksburg, Virginia."

This connects to the first paragraph, but not the second. Also:

Who's this new guitarist "Dan"? Does he have a last name? He wasn't mentioned anywhere in this article and is not listed as part of the current band lineup in the infobox, either.
What's an "Alex Band website"? A site for a band named "Alex" or the personal website of a person named Alex focusing on music.

Touring guests (playing one song during a tour)[edit]

To the editor(s) that wish to add the people who played bass on one song at one concert: First, this information is unsourced. Second, I do not believe this information belongs on this article even if we could source that a person played bass for one song at one concert. I am sure most bands have had a multitude people play a song or two during various shows.

If you want to get consensus on this, you can start an WP:RFC regarding the issue. I do not wish to edit war over this, I just do not believe the information added is encyclopedic. Angryapathy (talk) 20:47, 19 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Specific Collins tweets[edit]

Collins has used Eve 6's official Twitter account to make several tweets which I believe deny the Uyghur genocide ([1], [2], [3], [4], [5]). While I could not find coverage of these tweets in secondary sources, WP:TWEET lists a set of guidelines for using tweets as sources. Could these tweets be mentioned in the article? See WP:PRIMARY. You can't extrapolate anything beyond exactly what he tweeted. For example, in your recent edit, you can't say he "endorses socialism", but unless he literally said that (he didn't) you can really only use the tweet to say something like "on (date) Colin's said he's a socialist". And even that should be done pretty sparingly and cautiously. He says a lot of facetious things on his Twitter. And often on Wikipedia, the metric for deciding on whether or not something is worth noting often comes down to whether or not a third party source ever documents it. (Collins could tweet on January 15th 2021 that he was wearing blue shoes. But just because he tweeted that doesn't mean it's worth documenting it here. But if Rolling Stone says something about his Twitter antics, it's much more likely to be seen as worth documenting here on Wikipedia. That's how the website works.) So in short, I'd recommend focusing on aspects of his social media that music publications have taken note of. Not cherry-picking his social media content itself. I moved the paragraph about the band's Twitter account to its own section. Given the amount of attention the account has drawn, I think it makes sense to make that information easier to find in the article. Band Name Origin[edit]

Max Collins recently claimed in a Tik Tok (reposted here) that the band's name wasn't from the X-Files episode, but just because there were six guys in the band. He also explicitly namedropped the Wikipedia article here. The source for the X-Files claim is a magazine article from the late 90s; is there any way that can be corroborated one way or the other? I have some serious doubts about Collins' statement. The episode of the X-files "Eve" was produced 2 years years prior to the band's formation, and there is an actual character in that episode named "Eve 6".
