She is responsible for the press for the Gesamtkonferenz Deutscher Heilpraktikerverbände und Fachgesellschaften, a union of associations of heilpraktiker[edit]

What does that mean?Slatersteven (talk) 10:08, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Germany has several associations for Heilpraktiker (as that article shows, Heilpraktiker#Organisation), and five of them work together under an umbrella organisation (Dachverband, DDH - as still under the link given before) which a translated as "union", and that has Presse which I translated as "press", but perhaps "public relations" would be be better? She is the name given to contact, and is sending information. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 11:31, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ahh I see so it is supposed to say "She is responsible for the public relations of the Gesamtkonferenz Deutscher Heilpraktikerverbände und Fachgesellschaften, a union of associations of heilpraktiker".Slatersteven (talk) 13:16, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
This may be one reason why the article seems to be overly favorable to her, it may be a language issue.Slatersteven (talk) 13:17, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Tense[edit]

"was" is past tense, "is" is present tense, "has been" is however that is called for ongoing things. At least according to what I learned. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:57, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It depends on context.Slatersteven (talk) 14:02, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
But IS is shorter, and avoid any possible confusion.Slatersteven (talk) 14:03, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
After all Donald Trump HAS BEEN president of the USA, it can be past tense. IS it not.Slatersteven (talk) 14:05, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Can we please leave her talk without mentioning that person who was president? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:08, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I changed "has been" to "is" in the first sentence because it sounded like she was the director of the school in the past because of the way the sentence is structured. The sentence could also be written, "Since 1992, she has been director....." for consistency. Netherzone (talk) 14:27, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
That would be correct, if we really need to say "has been" rather than "is".Slatersteven (talk) 14:38, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
 Done! Netherzone (talk) 15:19, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Tag removal[edit]

I have removed the tags from the article because there was no clear rationale for them here on the talk page, and they didn’t seem necessary with a cursory glance at the articles and it’s sourcing. I would suggest that a detailed analysis of the sources be given here to justify the tags before replacing them; including why she doesn’t meet WP:NACADEMIC and/or WP:SIGCOV.4meter4 (talk) 21:24, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Given that she is the Director of a school and has published several books, including textbooks in her field, my feeling is that she is notable as an academic and expert in her field. Netherzone (talk) 21:46, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I am inclined to agree.4meter4 (talk) 22:17, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. In the external links, there's the beginning of an article saying that these books are valuable also for physicians, but I have only that snippet, unfortunately. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:00, 21 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
