Promotion and advertising will be removed[edit]

Certain aspects of this article contain language that may be interpreted as advertisement. Such language will be altered or effectively removed forthwith. Vormeph 22:44, 31 August 2015 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vormeph (talkcontribs)

Article will be revised shortly (week of 8/31/2015) to remove any language that may be interpreted as advertising. Thank you for the review, Vormeph. Symmetry USA (talk) 15:45, 1 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Since much of the hype was inserted by your own edits, that should be quite quick. I would venture to suggest that this article needs a machete taking to it rather than a scalpel. At present it is a very candidate for deletion MHO.  Velella  Velella Talk   15:55, 1 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Velella, I earlier flagged this article for deletion because it was filled with drivel pertaining to advertising/promoting the product rather than providing an unbiased interpretation thereof. It appears to have been removed by Symmetry USA. I would be forgiving and will revise the article as required, but if an edit war by the said user is launched then there will be no other alternative but to forward it to the moderators to decide what the best course of action is to take. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vormeph (talkcontribs) 17:12, 1 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for that. I for one am not about to edit war! If those with COI continue to maintain an inflated, promotional article then I am sure that they are aware of the consequences. A short, informative encyclopaedic article might just survive here. The current behemoth most certainly won't. Appreciate your efforts to bring it more in line. Vormeph, I like your changes. Only thing I added back is a quick description of what an elliptical bicycle is. This is a new category, so not intuitively clear to readers. However, I agree that it could have been perceived as advertising before, which is why I worded it quite neutral. Further to my comment yesterday, I will revise the rest of the article to remove promotional language. Appreciate everyone's input in making this a valuable addition to Wikipedia. Symetry USA, something tells me that you're in someway connected to ElliptiGO. Since much of the promotional language was devised by you it should be your responsibility to correct it. As stated before, it needs to be reworked, so try to cite sources which are neutral as to ELliptiGO's products. Vormeph 22:38, 2 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Please refer to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:What_Wikipedia_is_not#Wikipedia_is_not_a_soapbox_or_means_of_promotion - I will be revising this article as termed herein. Vormeph 19:29, 4 September 2015 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vormeph (talkcontribs)
