Why so many images?[edit]

Several comments.

If this is an article about an engine why are there so many poor images of the building. Wouldn't it be a good idea to check List of mills in Rochdale to see if there was detail of the McNaught Engine where you would find

If this were renamed to Ellenroad Mill- then the standard infobox could be used- and the same format at Dawn Mill, Shaw.

I can't remember what routed me to this article last week -- probably saw it in the 'Preserved engines' category and realised it wasn't on my watchlist yet. I was then looking for a picture of the engine on Commons, and found the other pics in passing. As there was no category then (and I didn't have time to create it) a gallery here seemed a sensible idea. Now the category exists, rationalisation is possible. (NOTE -- not all current images are in Commons category.)

Wouldn't have thought to look for 'List of Mills in Rochdale' as Rochdale isn't mentioned, but the above info would be useful here.

Engines can easily exist as a subsection of a mill article, if one is created.

So, how do you want to play it

New article on Ellenroad Mill, and make this a redirect. This ring mill is interesting as it is a rebuild of a mule mill- I have few details.
New article on Ellenroad Mill- that does an engine summary- that points to this as a main. Ellenroad has a working triple expansion engines that is / or can be a fantastic source.
Do the first- then when the Power section gets too big, kill the redirect, and transfer power over.

I am spending some time trying to categorise the Geograph upload at commons. We now have Chris Allen's mill photographs.

I will be creating new Commons Categories in the new future.

Its always worth looking at the List of mills... articles as that is where I dump new material find.

Time is such a constraint

It occurs to me that it would be possible to copy the TMtemplate with a single mill over on to article space- I might just try. Or even write a different template that uses the same parameters that could be included in a Stat engine infobox ....... why did I come here??

Independently of your most recent comment, (sorry), I have categorised the pics at Commons, and replaced the building pictures in the article with those more relevant to the engines themselves.

Regarding title, you're the mills expert, so I leave the decision up to you. A factor to consider is that the remaining buildings now house a beam engine too (and others?), so there is a new chapter in the history (as a museum). As such, I'll leave you to play with this article as you see fit.
