She eventually gained Liberal Party pre-selection for the safe Labor seat of Melbourne in the 1943 election, but was unsuccessful.

The Liberal Party didn't exist in 1943 so this is wrong. Most likely she was the United Australia Party candidate but I can't check this because the relevant pages on Psephos are still down.Teiresias84 01:00, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
