Elizabeth on Russian will be Elizaveta,not Elsabet.Лиза Безушко (talk) 18:53, 4 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Elizabeth could never mean My God is an oath or my God is abundance! Firstly, Hebrew religion would never allow even this concept. “Thou shalt have no other gods before me,” would prevent such a thing. Secondly, basic understanding of Sanskrit languages reveals that the “possessor” always comes first while that which is possessed comes immediately after. There for the accurate translation in English is Oath of God as opposed to my God is oath, and Abundance of God as opposed to my God is abundance. This is a huge discrepancy!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2603:6080:22F0:7F00:4426:1928:568:69CC (talk) 17:37, 4 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

To the author of the unsigned comment: Hebrew names antedate the period of Jewish monotheism; which is to say, they come from a time when the Hebrew tribes did not worship a single god exclusively.

Vandalism[edit]

I discovered a bunch of edits by this person: Special:Contributions/201.11.140.238 all of which appear to be vandalism (including obvious ones such as "Cupcake" as a diminutive of "Elizabeth". I am reverting them now. -- myncknm (talk) 23:38, 5 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Found another batch of vandalism edits here: Special:Contributions/201.11.181.98. -- myncknm (talk) 23:53, 5 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

UHMUHM name===, at the head of a list of name variants. I'll be deleting that accordingly.

Photo[edit]

Why does this article contain a photograph of the Queen? Is this really relevant? Yes, she is the Queen, but that's not an argument for giving her a special status. It's wrong to use any pictures in given name article. Anyone seeing this will then associate the name with the Queen, this is not neutral! --2.245.130.201 (talk) 00:16, 9 May 2014 (UTC) Removed. (talk) 17:21, 20 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Betty Prew[edit]

"Betty Prew", at the end of the list of famous Elizabeths, appears to be a prank edit, as I can find nothing about any such Betty Prew on the internet except from some random person on LinkedIn. Can someone check? --Matt Westwood 06:37, 1 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
