Current champions[edit]

ECCW may no longer have the TRW Television Championship. No announcement as to its status has been made but it has been removed from the list of championships on the official ECCW site.

Until we know for sure, it will be staying on here as a one of the titles. fishhead2100 June 5, 2006 2:20PM (UTC)

Renamed Titles[edit]

On ECCW.com it shows that all titles with the exception of SuperGirls title have to been renamed to the TRW/NWA Heavyweight title, TRW Tag Team titles, and so on and so fourth. Should all the title names be changed to reflect? Mr. C.C. 07:35, 12 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Logo and photos[edit]

We need the ECCW logo on this page. It would a good thing to have in my opinion. I also tagged it was photo requests because it would add the article in my opinion.

  1. Shouldn't we just take the image from ECCW.com? Or do we have to ask first.
I would ask Mike (webmaster) or Dave Republic (co-owner of ECCW) before just taking it unless we can find one on a free image site. Mr. C.C. 01:43, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pacific Cup[edit]

Can anyone at the TV taping confirm whether they presented Raines with the Pacific Cup at the end of the tournament? They said on TV that the winner would recieve the Pacific Cup as well as the title. VWG

ECCW Pacific Cup Tournament[edit]

Removed Pacific Cup, blatant attempt to circumvent the ongoing Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/ECCW Pacific Cup Tournament. One Night In Hackney 07:49, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've restored the previous version prior to User:One Night In Hackney edit. Please note that the material merged was from ECCW Pacific Cup (Tag) which had a prod tag placed by Hackney himself and had not been nominated for afd. If you note the history in ECCW Pacific Cup Tournament, I have never made an edit to that specific article. MadMax 09:12, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rather than adding wrestlecruft, I suggest you actually bother to source this article, given I've been exceptionally generous in not AfDing it to date despite the prod being removed. One Night In Hackney303 09:16, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry, but I didn't add anything that wasn't already on the main article. Again, if you notice prior to your edit, ECCW Pacific Cup (Tag) was previously split between the two articles. As its felt the tournament doesn't deserve its own page, it was merged back to here. If your concerned about this particular article's sources, I would suggest you place a {{references}} tag as I'm sure WP:PW or the author would be more than willing to provide proper references. MadMax 09:26, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Uh, no. The prod said it fails WP:CORP, therefore it's up to the person removing the prod to provide evidence it does (ie sources), which didn't happen. Sources please, or it's going to AfD. One Night In Hackney303 09:30, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

According to the history, the issue of NWA Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling's notability has already been resolved. If you're refering to ECCW Pacific Cup (Tag), it was from NWA Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling that ECCW Pacific Cup (Tag) originally existed. I'm not sure I understand why exactly it is you feel that I personally am suddenly responsible for providing sources for Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling or ECCW Pacific Cup (Tag) for that matter. I did not create this article and niether have I made any significant contributions towards it. If you feel this is a non notable promotion then you're certainly free to nominate it. MadMax 09:38, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What on earth are you talking about? See here. That was removed, and normally the procedure when that happens is to take it to AfD. However I have not done that yet, but the issue of failing WP:CORP has not been addressed. Simply saying "it's notable" or "x wrestles there" does not make it pass WP:CORP, it needs reliable sources that the article can be written from. So instead of adding cruft and failing to understand what has happened to date, please source the article. One Night In Hackney303 09:45, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm apologize if I'm unclear, however ECCW Pacific Cup (Tag) was originally part of the NWA Extreme Canadian Championship wrestilng article and split into a seperate article. Again, if your concered about providing adequte refereces, editors such as User:Starbuck-2 and User:Fishhead2100 are more then qualified to provide reliable sources. I've no opinion either way on the notability of the subject, however I haven't removed a prod tag. I've replaced the former article back to the main one. If you have an issue with the editor who removed the prod tag from NWA Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling you can take the matter up with that particular user. MadMax 10:02, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, you don't seem to understand. To avoid cruft being deleted from other articles, you've simply added it to this one. That doesn't address the problems, it just moves them elsewhere. One Night In Hackney303 10:04, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'd ask that you not make unwarrented accusations towards me. ECCW Pacific Cup (Tag) was originally part of this article and so I readded back it to its main article. If you're so concerned with its deletion, than you should have added it along with Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/ECCW Pacific Cup Tournament. This is an event held by the promotion, so its not exactly adding "wrestlecruft". If you're concerned that its unreferenced then you might want to consider working with knowlegable editors if this is the main issue you're concerned about. MadMax 10:16, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Vancouver Island Cup[edit]

I seen on ECCW.com that there is a Vancouver Island Cup and the holder of it is Sid Sylum. But I haven't been able to find any information about it. I have checked some title history sites, but nothing. Mr. C.C. (talk) 17:48, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sourcing issues[edit]

I've removed a great deal of unsourced content from the article, much of it containing controversial or negative claims about living persons and also unnecessary detail. This has been done several times already, but it keeps getting restored against policy (WP:V/WP:BURDEN, WP:BLP, WP:NPOV/WP:DUE, etc.). This has been escalated to Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons/Noticeboard#Elite Canadian Championship Wrestling, in case any editors would like to discuss the issue there. Woodroar (talk) 15:16, 5 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Like I had said on the noticeboard, section Elite_Canadian_Championship_Wrestling#Alumni includes lists of mostly non-notable wrestlers contrary to other lists where only notable (people with wiki article) are included. We should construct a criteria. 106.213.247.85 (talk) 23:19, 6 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@106.213.247.85: I'm going to be bold and replace the section heading "alumni" with "notable wrestlers". This would cut the list down to only the blue linked wrestlers, and would make sourcing easier. Magnolia677 (talk) 15:00, 7 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
