  • ... that in 1958, Elfrida von Nardroff won $220,500, $2.1 million in today’s dollars, on the game show Twenty-One, which was the most of any contestant? Source: “Elfrida von Nardroff, who won more money than anyone else on the 1950s television quiz show “Twenty-One” — but who later pleaded guilty to lying to a grand jury in Manhattan about receiving questions and answers in advance — died on Nov. 11 in a hospice in Westhampton Beach, N.Y. She was 96....Over several months in 1958, Ms. von Nardroff charmed television viewers as she defeated one opponent after another on her way to winning $220,500 ($2.1 million in today’s dollars). That dwarfed the $129,000 (nearly $1.3 million) that the show’s most famous contestant, Charles Van Doren, an English instructor at Columbia University, had won in 1956 and 1957.”

  • We are short here. Since the 1st of January we went from now 1293 to 1681 = 388 total expansion. I was interested in it but I do not think it qualifies Bruxton (talk) 16:31, 12 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • I will give a it a review in case I am wrong. Seems it may just be a few hours difference during the expansion? Bruxton (talk) 16:55, 12 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • Now 2827 characters. I reorganized, and added photo, an infobox and additional information etc. expansion began on January 1. Hard for me to say when expansion began but since Jan 1 there has been a 5X expansion 199 characters to 2827 today. The hook is supported - (I believe) NYT is behind a paywall so I cannot see it. Article has proper inline citations and the article is neutral, image that I added is not free. Regarding the hook, it is interesting, sadly nothing about the scandal. I expanded that section in the article. Bruxton (talk) 19:03, 12 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
