New Mexico music[edit]

The Oxford Uni press book makes it clear that Gonzalo doesn't consider El Gringo to be a New Mexico music artist, and specifically considers him to be part of the Mexican regional genre, even if he is from New Mexico. None of the other sources I've looked at suggest that El Gringo is part of the New Mexico music scene, either, so this would need reliable, independent sources. Gonzalo is a well-respected New Mexico music artist, they never said anything stating that El Gringo was not a New Mexico music artist. They stated that he and his sound, was something "new and fresh" for the genre, and that he's more of a regional Mexican artist than a New Mexico music artist. As he is from Los Lunas, it opens the door for him to bring the Regional Mexican music scene to the wider audience of NM music fans. Gonzalo is stating that his approach is much broader than solely New Mexico music, and that his sound makes him a Regional Mexican musician. What was wrong with that other source, I see now on the NM music article talk page that it says there's something wrong with the source, I can't see anything inherently wrong with it.
