Draft space and review[edit]

A previous version of this page was moved to draftspace because "An article you recently created, Ekpo Eyo, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published". I found this surprising, as the reference of this previous version was a detailed obituary dedicated to Ekpo Eyo that was published in an international, peer-reviewed scholarly journal, and as such in my opinion is beyond doubt a "reliable, independent source" with respect to wikipedia standards.

Hi Terphys! To clear up any confusion, I'll explain my reasoning as to the decision to move this page to draftspace. When I reviewed the page, I saw a page that was well-written, especially for a user with an edit count of about 150. Was it short, yes, it was, but I thought it had potential, as evidenced by the one source mentioned. Therein lies the issue - it only had one source. Per WP:GNG, multiple sources are expected. You are correct in assuming that the source does qualify as one that meets Wikipedia's standards - that was never the issue. Only a couple sentences had citations after them and that was what prompted the move to draftspace and the message on the talk page. I moved it to draftspace instead of WP:PROD or WP:AfD because while I had neither the time nor the interest to develop the page further, draftspace gives you the opportunity to further develop the page, which you have done. It was not a move made with ill will but what I thought was a fitting alternative to deletion, and I am glad that you have furthered the improvement of the page in draftspace. 'Treasures of ancient Nigeria' exhibition[edit]

For the article on Ekpo Eyo, I only gave rough information on the 'Treasures of ancient Nigeria' exhibition that he organized in the 1980s, and I think that this is sufficient. But in case that more details are of interest, here are the stops of the exhibition tour that I found:

Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York: August 11-October 12, 1980. (Some other source has August 14 as starting date; one of the two dates probably is a typo.)

There are comments in the web that suggest further stops in Europe, but I have not found details.
