Someone put the following on the page and I think it was vandalism so I deleted it. If someone can prove it's real, I can put it back.

History - Nazi Germany

During the time when the Nazis ruled Germany, the 'Nazi religion' said that all

German households must prepare an Eintopf every Sunday made with left-overs from

the previous week. On Sundays the Nazi secret police the Gestapo, would knock on

the doors of German families to check if they were cooking the Eintopf.

No, not quite. There was indeed a "Eintopfsonntag" pushed by the NSDAP, in which household where called to limit themselves to Eintopf and giving the money not spent to the Winterhilfswerk, a NS charity. But it was "only" the first Sunday each month from October to March and they didn't sent the Gestapo.

Eintopf vs Stew[edit]

There are two articles covering the same topic right now: Stew and Eintopf. The german wikipedia article de:Eintopf links to the english article Stew which does not refer to the german one but the Eintopf article does. IMHO the Eintopf article should merged into the Stew article. Right now the Eintopf article reads more like a single recept in a cook book. Quosta (talk) 23:55, 4 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

+1. Eintopf is just the german word for stew. I even wonder if the two articles should be merged. I think this article is actually obsolete and might as well be deleted. Geoz (talk) 22:42, 19 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

+ 1, Eintopf is not a traditional type of German stew, it is just the german translation of stew. Every German stew is an "Eintopf". Is "Eintopf" a common term in English like "Kindergarten"? If not, you would not need to mention it at all, except maybe the part: "Eintopf lunches were obligatory during some days: Eintopfsonntag - the first sunday of a month from October till March in Nazi Germany as part of the Winterhilfe.", what could be mentioned in stew. --178.10.140.85 (talk) 00:36, 20 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

GDR[edit]

I'm not able to find informations about the Eintopf in GDR in schoolsm offices and plants. I believe there existed an Eintopfday during some years.Xx236 (talk) 11:39, 11 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
