Universities section needed

This article urgently needs a section on the universities of Zimbabwe. If it doesn't have the historical information, i.e. going back into the colleges of colonial Rhodesia, then there should be a link to an article that does have this information. Itsmejudith (talk) 12:59, 28 April 2008 (UTC)

Plans to Thoroughly Develop this Article

This article is classified as a high-priority stub article for the Wikipedia Education Project. I would like to provide a through analysis of education in Zimbabwe through its history, current state, challenges and opportunities. Topics I am considering exploring to improve article are special education, poverty, policies, curriculum, teachers primary and secondary education. I also believe that more information about literacy, testing, scores and general facts specific to education in Zimbabwe is needed in order to provide a detailed overview of their education system.

Hi Reillybrooks — Good job on your recent edits! Here are some recommendations for the article. There are a few formatting changes you could make (following the MoS), including changing titles to sentence case instead of the current title case. There are some grammatical errors that need to be addressed; along with those, I think some small changes to sentence structure would increase readability. As for the actual content of the article, the topics covered seem comprehensive, and hopefully you'll be able to expand on some subsections that are currently empty. Keep up the good work! Hi Reilly, after peer reviewing your article I have a few suggestions for improvement. The thing I think you need to work on the most is organizing the original information that was on your page. The information you have added is all very clear, but it needs to be incorporated with what already existed. Hey Reillybrooks. I think the article overall looks really good! I think the areas that would be most interesting to expand besides the areas it looks like you're planning on developing in your page is talking about the money used to fund the education system, and about how education standards in Zimbabwe compare to the rest of the world. Besides that, there are just some minor things that could be retouched- I would proofread for difficult sentences and for statements that may generalize beyond what I think you're trying to talk about. Hi Reillybrooks — Good job on your recent edits! The article is coming along great, and the amount of links and added/expanded content has really integrated it into Wikipedia. Here are some recommendations for the article. There are a few captions that should be revised or changed; this would enhance the use of photos as illustration. Additionally, subtitles could be added to the chronological subtitles, and a couple small formatting changes made to the links beneath titles and subtitles. Keep up the good work! Blatantly false

« Segregation of schools based on funding was most extreme in the 1970s because Europeans only represented 1% of Zimbabwe's population, but were allocated 99% of government spending on education.»

In the 1970s, the European population was certainly more than 1% (250 K of around 6000 K blacks depending on the precise date in the 1970s...) That sounds more like 1/24, so around 4 %. Also the source rather states that the whites got 10 times more than the black who accounted for 99 % of the population (but not source is provided in the document cited for that claim)— Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.151.168.48 (talk) 23:13, 17 November 2017 (UTC)
