Ok, this article, may not be the most interesting, but i'm leaving loads of links to anything i can find on this. Pictures you will have to do yourself.

Economy[edit]

  • Council - very little, but some figures - [1]
  • regeneration (pdf) - [2]
  • Airport expansion - intersting, plenty of info - [3]
  • Long, but talks about economic regeneration in luton - [4]
  • Parliment speech, interesting down the bottom - [5]
  • book review on vauxhall decline - not a lot, but more info in the PDF below - [6]
  • PDF on this book - [7]
  • industry in bedfordshire - [8]

Early Economy[edit]

there is very little indeed, but i'm guessing that you can say (or actually know) that luton was agricultural based then moved to bricks, then to hats, then to cars.

Brickmaking[edit]

Very little, but there are occasional references

  • two types of brick from luton - [9]
  • Ah ha! a history bit with stuff about a lot of things including bricks - [10]

Hatmaking[edit]

  • the hat story, with some stuff about luton in it - [11]
  • this is about a celebrity hat competion involving luton - [12]
  • not exactly hat making, but a good link all round actually, have a look - [13]
  • this is a very interesting piece from parliment about the hat industry. i found it odd at first, but full of info - [14]
  • directory for hat industry in uk - see that they're mainly from luton - [15]

It seems that luton is really important and famous for it's hat industry. mabye you should add this to the main economy article or in general in history on the main article for luton.

Vauxhall[edit]

You can use the artcile on wiki, but there are some more links here

  • about how the loss of jobs was handled in parliment - [16]
  • 3 counties history of vauxhall - [17]
  • photo gallery from 3 counties with info - [18]
  • History of vauxhall - [19]

Airport[edit]

Again, whats on wiki can be used, but more articles here

Shopping[edit]

  • arndale centre stuff - bit old - [24]
  • homepage - [25]

I think there is enough to start on here, good luck, Random articles
