Fair use rationale for Image:Duelinthesun.jpg[edit]

Image:Duelinthesun.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:29, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Plot point[edit]

"When she is overpowered by Lewt in her bedroom one night, Pearl is angry with him and ashamed of her own behavior. But she also cannot help but be flattered by his lust and attentions."

I haven't seen the film but is the implication that Lewt raped her? Or forced kisses upon her? It makes a big difference in how you interpret both of their actions in the rest of the film. 69.125.134.86 (talk) 16:57, 23 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

"Rentals"?[edit]

"It earned $11,300,000 in rentals in North America during its initial release"

Should this be "revenues" instead of "rentals"? I don't think they had rentals in 1946, and the source is dated 1960 so they can't be talking about a DVD release or even VHS. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.8.220.129 (talk) 05:04, 14 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No, they were indeed rentals. The cinemas rented the films and still do. I see your point, though. At the time this film was current people probably knew exactly what the word meant, but today it sounds confusing. 206.255.98.162 (talk) 13:01, 1 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
