I'll try answer, but that is something that needs a proper source to address. I haven't looked at this particular instrument in any papers. It is a traditional instrument, and these can have more than one configuration. Similarly the oud can have different numbers of strings and different tunings. In Tibetan, the instrument's name is pronounced dra-nyen/drab-nyen/dram-nyen , but not dram-yin! Yak-indolog (talk) 22:25, 7 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
