Splitting of the article[edit]

I think this article should be splitted into Dragon boat and Tuen Ng / Duan Wu/ Dragon Boat Festival. -- Jerry Crimson Mann 05:55, 18 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I would also suggest splitting off a section on the various dragon boat teams into a separate article arranged by geographic location. Split declined. Article needs clean up and sourcing before considering creating a new article. I've made a slight reorganisation which reveals that the main aspects of the article are the racing, so the request to split into Dragon boat racing was not appropriate. There is already an article for Duanwu Festival, and I've ensured that the above terms now link to the festival page, and a disambiguation note has been placed on top of this article. Currently Duanwu Festival redirects to Dragon Boat Festival, not the other way around.
It seems some editors forcibly renamed it (despite more opposing votes on the talk page). --Kiyoweap (talk) 19:32, 16 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

What about the boat?[edit]

There seems to be a big hole in this page as there is nothing about specifications, how are they built, regional differences in the boats, where to buy, materials used, technical diagrams, decorations used - there is prety much nothing about the boat. US Dragon Boat Team[edit]

The USDBF Dragon Boat Premier Teams are based out of Philadelphia. The premier open team (Men) is Coached by Bob McNamara and the Premier Woman's Team is coached by Hype Mattingly. Although the team is based out of Philadelphia paddlers from all around the United States try out for a spot on the team and are required to complete time trials on OC1s, rigorous physical tests, and are assessed for over all compatibility for their respective teams. Other teams, lead by separate coaches, include competition for older and younger athletes. Athletes over 40 are eligible to try out for the Senior A Team. There are also a Senior B and C teams. Younger paddlers are eligible to exhibit in the U24, U18 and U16 teams.

Who Governs Dragon Boats Racing? International Dragon Boat Federation or International Canoe Federation[edit]

According to the the article, it states that Dragon Boat racing is governed by the International Dragon Boat Federation (IDBF) and that the World Championships will be held in Adelaide, Australia, in 2016 (although it does not state any specific date or provide any citations), however, I have found information that states that Dragon Boat racing is governed by the International Canoe Federation (ICF) (See Here) and that the World Championships are to be held between the 8-11 September 2016 in Moscow, Russia (See Here). There is no mention of the ICF in this article and I am wondering why? Can someone please clarify this for me?
