Untitled[edit]

Just removed a section on how he voted on the Digital Economy Bill, which is irrelevant without listing his other voting decisions, and appears to be someone getting worked up on the subject. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.156.83.76 (talk) 14:27, 8 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

this needs updating as he is now the shodow not incumbent —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.236.126.62 (talk) 23:07, 12 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It appears to be up to date. He is the incumbent Shadow Secretary of State for International Development, which is what the article says. Road Wizard (talk) 23:13, 12 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ken Livingstone row[edit]

I have removed a claim that Alexander was "widely criticised" for his comments on Ken Livingstone's Mayoral election defeat. The supporting source is a blog so cannot be treated as reliable for claims on biographies of living people except in a limited number of circumstances. Are there any other sources to support this claim? Road Wizard (talk) 22:23, 22 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The supporting article from Labourlist which is the most trusted source of online news for the Labour Party with a full time editorial staff. There are numbers of other news articles and comment pieces regarding the incident. It is widely considered a major row in the party and caused serious internal strife with the trade union movement and well connected prominent Ken Livingstone supporters. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Labourpartywatcher (talkcontribs) 22:32, 22 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If you have "numbers of other news articles" then please provide one that is of better quality than a blog. Also, your blind reversion of my edit removed important information I added to your citations; compare the references section of this version of the article to the one you restored.
As a separate point, I strongly encourage you to read our core policy on biographies of living persons. Adding a 1 month old row supported by 3 sources (1 newspaper and 2 websites) to the lead section is giving undue prominence to the issue as compared to his 15 year political career. If you can provide more evidence that the issue has been picked up by multiple sources then it may be something we can consider. Road Wizard (talk) 22:42, 22 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
