Rename[edit]

Should this be moved to Double fisherman's bend? — Omegatron (talk) 19:00, 17 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Dead Reference[edit]

Reference [1] on the page is a dead link. As linked, it goes to a 404 page on the source domain. Search for the title of the reference ("Knot Break Strength vs Rope Break Strength") on the internet finds a slightly more informative page on the same domain: https://caves.org/section/vertical/nh/50/knotrope.html, which says "This article has been removed pending further review by the Vertical Section Board.".

If the source domain does not feel the article is reliable, then it is not reliable enough for Wikipedia. I think it should be removed.

-- I agree. I find the information from this link to be unreliable. In the Security section this sentence appears: " The butterfly bend held under slightly more weight, but was "almost impossible to untie after a significant load of about 1,000 lb [4.4 kN] was applied".[1]"

The butterfly bend is non-jamming, so how can it become "almost impossible to untie"? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.194.218.6 (talk) 17:39, 6 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
