There isn't anything, anywhere suggesting, as it is done in the Wikipedia's article, that Donna Tartt is of italian descent.

The reference to her mysterious connection to some un-named Anthony Perkins biography written by some anonymous person is bizarre. If sourced, this might be worthwhile as trivia or miscellania, but it is certainly not what Donna Tartt is notable for.

I really don't understand why a contribution I made on the "External Link" section (I simply added a site containing an essay on "The Secret History" worth reading) went under the definition of "vandalism" and then, deleted. WHY??? Henry Cassini 11:30, 28 November 2006 (UTC)Henry Cassini

Need photo in infobox

Personal Life

I've altered the 'Personal Life' section of the article to reflect the age of the references which do exist, via tense changes, and remove references which did not back up text. In the first case, I removed the reference to the subject of the article talking on the 'phone to her mother every day and not talking to her father as this seemed preferable to the otherwise odd observation (from a 2021 perspective) that in 2002 she said these things were true between 1982 and 2002. In the second case, I took out references to her habits re: book tours and literary festivals because they were not supported by the references provided. Additionally, I balanced the subject's reference to not being a recluse with a paraphrasing of and reference to her words in order to allow the reader to make her/his own judgement. It is fair to say, I think, that the paucity of personal information available on an international publishing phenomenon is either a function of her reclusiveness from the public in some form, or of an effort by interested parties to ensure an air of mystery is applied to her public persona. Removal of Canongate publication reference

I've removed the reference to the subject reportedly working on a Canongate publication for two reasons. First, the reference did not evidence this but instead also referred to Tartt reportedly working on the publication. In other words, there was no source for the information. Second, there appears to be no reference today of such a Canongate publication existing (although, conversely, there exist informal references noting that no such publication exists in the relevant Canongate series).

Reference to failure of Goldfinch movie

I've reverted the comments about the movie's failure as they are pertinent to the public and notable dropping by Tartt of her agent. They are, in this way, pertinent to understanding Tartt's putative relationship with the subsequent commercial exploitation of her work. SteveCree2 (talk) 19:11, 26 August 2021 (UTC)
