Rename proposal Dondra Head -> Dondra[edit]

Propose a rename as per WP:UCN.

Dondra is the name of the settlement. Dondra Head is the name of the specific area in the vicinity of the lighthouse.

This article is clearly about the settlement as a whole and the name should reflect that, keeping Dondra Head as a redirect.

Proposed this eight months ago. Going ahead with the change. nancy 04:56, 29 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Dubious facts again by user:Xenani[edit]

Dear Xenani. The following fact is doubtful. (Dondra is an anglicised version of the Sinhala name Devundara, with Tamil origin from Theivanthurai (God's Port).) I would like to hear an answer from you as you are the one who has done this edit. It is clear that you have completely changed a sourced paragraph in to another by adding a non-clear ref. This edit shows your biased and careless behavior in Wiki again.--L Manju (talk) 04:56, 19 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You are quick when it comes to making WP:RUDE claims. It is clear that you do not go through the sources accordingly, which is seen in in your recent tagging and content removal in these edits on other aticles, [1] and [2]. Anyway, I will add quotations for them for better consensus. Xenani (talk) 20:52, 19 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Without knowing whether the sources are reliable or not you are adding the things see in the pages of google books. Some information has been just taken from the snipping views. Example here. It is obvious that you haven't study or even see the Tamil part of that inscription.-- L Manju (talk) 14:04, 20 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Dubious facts - user:Xenani has a ref saying this (Dondra is an corrupted form of the Sinhala name Devundara with Tamil origin from Theivanthurai). The user has put the quotation of that ref as follows (quote=In this context, it may be of interest to cite a few place-names in other parts of the Island, with a Tamil origin; in the Western Coast such as Puttalam, Ciläpam (Chilaw), Nirkolumbo (Nikumpalai, Negombo), Kalattarai (Kalutara), Pãnanturai (Pãnadura), Mätarai (Matara), Teivanturai (Dondra)...). The ref trivially mentions Teivanturai (Dondra) as a place-name with a Tamil origin. Teivanturai (Dondra) does not include the term Devundara. Then how this user assumed that Devundara has a Tamil origin and create his sentence.--L Manju (talk) 14:49, 20 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
You are right. Devundara shoud be removed from the sentence. Xenani (talk) 14:52, 20 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
