Why Don and not Donald?[edit]

User:Clare., what's the basis for calling him Don?

I worked for the Dept of Civil Aviation when he was the Director-General, and he was always referred to as Sir Donald, never Sir Don. -- Jack of Oz ^{[pleasantries]} 10:38, 2 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
