Made-up surname[edit]

Birth year?[edit]

Okay for a long time her birth year was listed as 1981 and now there's an edit war going on with people changing it back and forth between that and 1987. It seems the people that claim that it's 1987 use this as their source.

Why exactly should that be taken as gospel though? There are more websites stating her birth year to be 1981. Also she got married in February of 2005 which is also listed in the main article. And according to the below link

She decided to get married when she was 21. Which also contradicts a 1987 birth year because if that was accurate and her wedding being in February 2005, that would mean she hadn't turned 18 yet(since her birthday is in November). Her first music video 'aiyo rama' released back in 2020 which was 21 years back. If she is 34 as it's claimed, she would have been just 13 that time which is highly doubtful. She was 18 at the time when she got her break according to her own interviews in past. If you add 21 to 18 that's her real age now and hence her birth year must be 1981. The recent edits and reference links are from her recent interviews which are part of PR exercise for her upcoming movie. Hi, I believe there is some dispute regarding the DOB of the personality mentioned. I am sharing a few links that would confirm the real DOB as 20.11.1987. Also, you can google the name of the personality and check the DOB on the knowledge panel. I can also share an image of an official government document to prove the DOB.

The Times of India article that you posted says it was "updated" in 2020, and claims that she's 32 years old, implying she was born in 1987. Yet, this Times of India article from 2013 claims that she's 32 years old in 2013, making her birth year 1981. I agree there is a lot of conflicting articles on the internet about it but if you check the Google knowledge panel, it shows the right DOB. The links that I shared are the ones that have the right DOB too. Doesn't google usually go off a wikipedia though? And since wikipedia can be edited by anyone, not even google is a reliable source as it's had the wrong birth years of other actors and actresses in the past. Sometimes even the wrong birthday. Also like I mentioned in my comments above(and provided links), one article mentioned she was 21 when she decided to get married. Her wedding was in February 2005. And the other article has an interview with Divya herself saying she was 20 when she moved to Mumbai and where she met Bhushan Kumar about a year later. The knowledge panel on Google can only be edited if you have a valid proof for it. I am not talking about a random search on Google. I have mentioned above that there are a few links that quote her wrong DOB. We shared proof with Google and that's when they agreed on changing it to the right one. Also, if the moderators want to check, I can share a government ID to prove her DOB. Okay. But like I also mentioned, there are things that don't add up to her birth year being 1987. If that's the correct year, then there would be several contradictions. Such as her being at least 20 when she moved to Mumbai and where she met her future husband and being 21 when she decided to get married. Because if her wedding was in February 2005 and being born in 1987, she would had still been under 18 and isn't illegal in India for girls that hadn't turned 18 to get married? Are we sure this isn't her suddenly trying to appear younger? Because a lot of Bollywood actresses have lied about their age and shaved off some years. For years Divya's birth year was listed as 1981 and now suddenly within the past few months it's being listed as 1987. Ahh right, ok. So, in that interview from 2013, she speaks of moving to Mumbai when she was 20, and then subsequently working on a film that was eventually released in 2004-2005. If she was born in 1987, she would only be 18 years old in 2005. So, that math doesn't seem to add up. It's apparent from the sources provided that there is at least some ambiguity of the 1987 date and that there is a strong likelihood of the normal "aging down" that takes place in actor autobiographical statements. Hi! Hope this Times Of India article will help. Times of India is one of the top national newspapers of the country. In the first paragraph of the article, it reads that 'She is 33 years old' which essentially means that she was born in the year 1987.

Divya Khosla Kumar[edit]

It says that she moved to Mumbai at 20 and met Bhusan Kumar. She is 1987 born and in 2004 her film with Akshay released when she was 17-18 years. And the page also says married in 2005. So she got married at 18-19 years old as per 1987 born. I don't know, I mean it doesn't look correct to me. Contradictory actually. Here's an article from late 2013 where it states that she's 32. And where she herself said that she was 20 when she moved to Mumbai and filmed a movie that came out near the end of 2004. This completely contradicts a 1987 birth year.

Are any of the sources above reliable for her birth year? It's interesting that her Hindi page on Wikipedia [1] states her birth year is 1981 and has said so since 2015. Some1 (talk) 23:01, 16 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Per WP:DOB, the date must be explicitly stated, not extrapolated. Bollywoodshaadis explicitly states November 27, 1981 but it seems to be a entertainment gossip site and not RS. Meanwhile, one of the Times of India articles explicitly states 20th November 1987, which is even a different birthday much less year. However its reliability is in question per WP:TOI. there has been endless proofs of her birth year wrongly mentioned. She herself in an interview stated her age in 2013 she was 32 years. Clearly Wikipedia earns money from such celebrities. Its a disgrace.
