Move request[edit]

I would have done this one myself, except I forgot that even single-edit redirect pages can block the move. Anyway, see Talk:Disciple (Christianity) if you're curious in the history here, or [1] for what the page looked like previously when at Disciple. Basically, my first instinct was to split off the savable parts to the disambig page here, and leave Disciple as it was. Since no one came forward to improve Disciple, I decided it'd be easier to move it off to Disciple (Christianity) (since that was basically all that was left on the page), and in that case, we should move the disambig page back to Disciple. You did an excellent job in the moving and splitting. Since I never had the initiative, I'm glad that you did. -Acjelen 14:43, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support this is a no-brainer, I would have done it under {{db-move}}. Hbdragon88 01:18, 10 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion[edit]

Add any additional comments Comment. First, kudos for the splitting and reorganization, that was needed and it now has a simpler and more usable style. Second, I really feel that Twelve Apostles is the primary topic here, but I'm aware that they have an article and don't need this one. I guess I'm not 100% convinced that Disciple (Christianity) shouldn't be the article at Disciple, and this article left where it is. --Dhartung | Talk 03:54, 25 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I am re-listing this to gather consensus. Technically no one has really voiced support and one has voiced some well-founded opposition to the move. Hopefully a real quorum can be assembled since having so many pages linked to a redirect to a dab page is very bad form (this is currently 26th in WP:DPL). —Wknight94 (talk) 16:44, 4 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Er... who has voiced this well-founded opposition to this move? I haven't seen this. (For what it's worth, I'd have no problem with going around and helping fix links should this be moved to Disciple. It's also no particular skin off my nose if the Disciple page redirects to Disciple (Christianity), or else Disciple (Christianity) is simply moved to Disciple.) I will say that part of the reason I at least changed my mind from having Disciple (Christianity) the main page is that, quite frankly, it still isn't that good. Plus, as is pointed out above, often times people actually want the Twelve Apostles page, which is considerably better. That's why I lightly favor having the Disambig page be the major page and be moved to Disciple. SnowFire 03:09, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I was referring to Dhartung's statement above which I read as at least partial opposition. With all due respect, I disagree with your logic - Disciple (Christianity) not being a high-quality article is not a good reason to keep it disambiguated. If it's still where a reader would generally expect to go, that's where they should go. If the article's not good, make it better (i.e., {{sofixit}}). —Wknight94 (talk) 11:24, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You'll note that that's what I've tried to do. SnowFire 04:01, 6 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Disciple (disambiguation) has been moved to Disciple -- a simple case of a malplaced disambiguation page. olderwiser 14:49, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
