More on VSIM[edit]

What does VSIM stand for? Isn't it patented? Where can I find it? I know it is based on some mathematical discovery, a method of resolution of a quite complicated system of differential equations, but I can't find anything about it anywhere on the net. Terdargil

The screen that appears prior to the title screen says "patent pending", which does seem to indicate that it is now patented. The game's manual (included as a PDF on the CD) says that VSIM stands for Virtual SIMulation, but I'm not finding anything about mathematical discoveries or differential equations. 172.146.197.119 02:25, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Still patent pending in expansion as well. 70.22.25.34 17:19, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

VSIM stands for Virtual Sword in Motion Roidroid 07:30, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It does not stand for anything, and definitely doesn't stand for Virtual Sword in Motion, literally the first time I've seen those words in that order. 76.79.134.150 (talk) 23:31, 21 April 2016 (UTC)ChrisBusse(dev on DBTS)[reply]

Determinance[edit]

The statement "The unique feature of this game (which is yet to be duplicated in any game since)" may have been overcome by events. See the game "Determinance" at http://www.mode7games.com/. I suppose the deep force model of DbtS isn't there, but I think that we may have a spiritual successor.

I would have though that to be a spiritual successor it would require members of the DbtS team to work on it. KaL YoshiKa (talk) 11:09, 24 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Abandonware?[edit]

i read somewhere that this game is now classed as abandonware, is this true or just a rumor?--Kilikman (talk) 17:32, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Latest update patches[edit]

Can information where to get the latest update patches for this game be added?

I have tried searching Google for some websites that offer a download for the update patch but all I get are broken links.Andrewwan1980 (talk) 15:57, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Online Multiplayer[edit]

Plagiarism?[edit]

Steep Learning Curve[edit]

Please check the logic in the part "steep learning curve for novice players". The usage of the metaphor makes little sense when used in connection with novice players, because it describes the change over time in effort needed to become a skilled player. This use here indicates to me that the writer didn't know what the metaphor means and thus it probably says the wrong thing. A steep curve refers to a curve that begins at a small angle in relation to the x axis and begins to 'climb' progressively. So if you removed the novice part and say the game has a steep learning curve, it means that learning the basics is very easy, but becoming really good at the game takes more and more effort. Although I have to admit that the whole idea of using the term "steep" with a curve is somewhat illogical to begin with in my understanding. It would probably be the most logical and professional way to just say it without using a metaphor. --91.49.249.167 (talk) 19:40, 25 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
